Naper Settlement
On Friday we will be traveling to Naper Settlement.
This will be the first time I have ever been there and I wanted to see what it is all about:
http://www.napersettlement.org
This is a great website that offers virtual tours along with some information into the history of Naperville.
The students will be broken up into groups to explore Naper Settlement where:
Our living history museum tells the story of daily life in Naperville as it changed from a simple frontier outpost to a bustling turn-of-the-century community. With costumed villagers, annual events and special exhibits, you never know what a visit to the Settlement will bring! Enjoy the experience as your pulse slows and you breathe a little easier in our 19th century world.
I am looking forward to seeing the Firehouse, Blacksmith and Covered Wagons! They even have a one room schoolhouse. I can't imagine having all of our 7th graders in one room!
Please remember to bring a sack lunch and dress appropriately. The weather man is calling for scattered showers and we will be outside!
